SeaJUG is an all volunteer effort - which means items such as the website and mailing list are updated as schedules afford. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. We need suggestions/volunteers for topics! If you'd like to donate your time/skills to the cause, contact Nimret Sandhu.
Attendance was excellent for this great presentation on threading in Java. We had around 60-70 folks there. QPass/Openmarket were kind enough to provide pizza and pop which vanished rapidly.
We did the usual agenda including folks looking to hire and folks looking for jobs. It looks like the job market is still healthy with multiple companies looking to hire though there were more hands than last time looking for jobs too. Still, I would say the ratio is quite favorable towards job seekers.
The presentation was excellent and we had lots of time for QA and for folks to mingle with recruiters/each other after the talk. I have attached the slides from the presentation with this snip and they can found on the top-right hand side of this text entry.
Some of the folks retired in the Virginia Inn after the meeting for drinks.
